Pasadena City College baseball team head coach Pat McGee announced that four of his returning sophomores from the 2017 South Coast Conference North Division Champion Lancers are scheduled to play in the 27th Fall Showcase SoCal All-Star Game on Sunday, Oct. 1 at Mt. San Antonio College.
The four players are All-SoCal Region rightfielder Shane Ogata, All-SCC First Team starting pitcher Race Gardner, All-SCC Second Team centerfielder John Bicos, and catcher Jessie Garcia. The annual exhibition game (there is also one held in the North Region), hosted by the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association (CCCBCA), features selected players from a variety of regional schools in order for the student-athletes to gain exposure to scouts from both 4-year universities and from the professional ranks.
The four PCC participants will play their sophomore season as Lancers in 2018, beginning in late January.
