Westridge lost its first game of the 2017 Prep League season.
After dropping the first set at Mayfield on Tuesday night, the Tigers battled and persevered against a very tough Cubs team.
Westridge earned a 22-25, 25-17, 28-26 and 25-22 victory.
The win kept the Tigers one-game ahead of Poly in the Prep League standings.
Allison Martinez led the way with 28 kills, and Makana Meyer added 17 kills.
Eryn Boken finished with 5 kills and 11 digs.
Olivia Smith, Ellie Watkins, Maddie Reed and Annie Evans all played well for the Cubs.
Westridge will finishing out the regular season with a pair of Prep League matches.
The Tigers travel to Flintridge Prep on Thursday at 5:15, and then the showdown for all the marbles when they go to Poly next Tuesday at 5.
If the Panthers win the match, the Panthers will share the Prep League championship with Westridge.
If the Tigers win, they claim not only the outright title, they will have done so without a loss.
