Despite placing seventh as a team out of eight competing at Friday’s South Coast Conference Championships, the Pasadena City College women’s cross country team drew an at-large berth into the Southern California Championships this Friday, Nov. 3.
The Lancers did not have a runner reach the upper half of the 63 overall racers competing over the 5-kilometer course at Mt. San Antonio College with freshman Raylan Galvin taking the team’s top placing honors in 33rd place at 21:57.6. Sophomore teammate Yasmine Barrios crossed the finish line in 35th at 22:01.4. Rounding out the meet for PCC were Melissa Olivas in 49th (24:06), Vanessa Monrreal in 52nd (24:25), and Paola Jimenez in 56th (24:53).
Coached by Innocent Egbunike, Pasadena now competes at the SoCal Meet to be held at Central Park in Santa Clarita.
