From STAFF REPORTS
One reason Poly challenged all season for the Prep League title was because the Panthers are so balanced and can rely on a number of players to come through on any given night.
Tuesday’s CIF-SS Division 4 playoff opener was no different.
For the first time in a long time, star sophomore Ella Mao wasn’t the leader in kills.
This time, it was Halston Harper’s 7 kills and Kate Salembier’s 6 kills that led the Panthers offense.
Poly swept visiting Camarillo, 25-10, 25-17 and 25-17.
They will host Mayfair of Lakewood on Thursday night at 7.
The Monsoons (24-5) swept Warren, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-16.
Back to Poly, though.
Zoey Mao (5 kills) and sister Ella combined for 9 kills. Zoey also added 24 assists.
Alexis Pappachan had 3 kills, a block and an ace, and Lauren Kidman chipped in 16 assists.
Records:
Camarillo (13-16); Poly (22-4)
