Both Flintridge Prep’s boys and girls cross country put in strong performances at this week’s League Finals at Pierce College. The boys’ side took home their 8th consecutive League title after a comfortable lead above second-place Chadwick, with Evan Pattinelli ’18 taking home a very close second. The girls’ side fell just short of Mayfield overall, but Sophie Gitlin ’18 led the squad with a 3rd place finish. She and the team will take on CIF SS Div V and CIF State Div V finals for a chance at a fourth consecutive top finish.
After a couple rough battles in a row against Mission Prep and Chadwick, football scored an at-large berth for the postseason. They enter their first matchup today against Upland Christian Academy.
A 14-12 overall record (a huge 7-1 in League) propelled boys water polo into a good spot heading into CIF. A 14-9 victory over Atascadero launched the team into Round II, but they fell short against Alta Loma with a 5-7 final tally to end their CIF journey.
While girls tennis did not proceed into postseason this year, Crystal Juan ’18 qualified for an individual spot. Stay tuned for updates on her experiences, and be sure to go out and support her!
