While the Blair players left their gym disappointed Thursday night after dropping a 66-61 overtime battle with Saddleback Valley Christian, it’s these type of games that will pay off when the Vikings get into league action and the playoffs.

Blair (6-2) saw its five-point halftime lead evaporate when SVC outscored the Vikings, 19-10, in the third period.

But the Vikings fought back and forced overtime.

Unfortunately, they could only muster 4 points in the extra period, but it was, even in a loss, said to have been a “good and exciting game,” by Blair coach Jelani Gardner.

Dez Washington led the way as he always does.

The senior had game highs with 26 points and 12 rebounds.

Donald Guyton added 13 points and 4 rebounds, while Favour Ihiaso had 9 points and 9 boards.

Dallas Murray finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds.

Blair will get back on the court on Tuesday at 1:30 in the Damien Tournament.

Box Score:
SVC: 12-12-19-14-9-(66)
Blair: 8-21-10-18-4-(61)

Records:
Blair (6-2); Saddleback Valley Christian (6-3)
