Muir continues to grind through tough tournament games, be that in Las Vegas or La Verne.
The Mustangs have won 4 of their last 5 tourney games with Wednesday’s 50-48 victory over Hesperia in the second round of the Damien Classic.
Ask some fans and parents, and they’ll tell you that Muir had too many turnovers, but the bottom line was that they earned the “w.”
Tiyon Martin led Muir with 11 points, 6 assists, 2 steals and 2 rebounds.
Tasson Aubry had a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.
Hunter Woods finished with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
Simaine Stewart also had 8 points, 5 assists and 2 boards for his father’s program.
Nick Moore added 4 points for the Mustangs.
Muir will play Corona Centennial at Damien Thursday night at 6:30 in the ‘small gym.’
