From STAFF REPORTS

La Salle, for the second time in two meeting with Bishop Amat got off to a really slow start.

In fact, the Lancers trailed Amat, 36-18 at the break, and on the road Friday night.

But behind Darius Henderson’s 16 points and Kenneth Franklin adding 15 points they battled back and outscored Amat, 38-26 in the second half.

Unfortunately, the damage had been done.

And to top that off, La Salle shot 1 for 12 in the fourth quarter and were just 7 of 24 from the free-throw line.

All of that added up to a 62-56 victory for Bishop Amat, and it dropped the Lancers behind St. Monica into fourth place in the league standings.

The Lancers will host St. Monica on Wednesday at 7 in another Camino Real League battle.
