The junior guard plays a supporting role for the 17-5 Vikings and first-year coach Jelani Gardner, but don’t let the ‘role’ label fool you. Murray is key in Blair’s recent run. After Wednesday’s 65-61 victory at South Pasadena, Murray and his boys were to make history 48 hours later. Murray had 10 points and 6 rebounds in Blair’s historic 50-45 victory at La Canada on Friday night. It was the Vikings’ first win over the Spartans since 2001 and it snapped a 32-game losing streak to the perennial Rio Hondo League champions. He also helped Blair move into a first-place tie with La Canada atop the league standings with four games to play for both schools.
