The Santa Fe League is proving to be a cake walk for the La Salle girls basketball program.
After Monday’s 64-21 victory at Pomona Catholic, the Lancers move to 5-0 in league and by a combined margin of 318-119.
The area’s most dynamic player continues to shine, and even in limited minutes.
Julia Macabuhay finished with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals in three quarters of action.
Freshman Zarah Huo had 12 points and Alyssa Arroyo had 10.
Crystal Ramirez chipped in 8 points, while Skyler Uzeta had 6.
Both Natalia Rodriguez and Brianna Antillon had 4 points apiece for La Salle.
The only real drama left in the regular season is next Thursday when they host second-place Mary Star, as the Stars trail the Lancers by just one game.
But the Lancers defeated the Stars by 37 points on Mary Star’s own floor, so the likelihood isn’t that strong.
Freedom McCullough, though, is looking at the big picture and wants his program playing its best as they went the CIF-SS playoffs, and one year removed from a semifinal runs.
La Salle will travel to Playa Del Rey on Wednesday to take on St. Bernard at 7.
