Alvie Castro got off to a solid and quick start to the 2018 season.
The senior right hander went 6 scoreless innings in game one.
Castro allowed just one hit, walked a pair and struck out 7 batters to help Pasadena take game 1 of a Saturday doubleheader, 2-0.
Adrian DePasquale had an RBI double and Aaron Corder singled twice and drove in the other Bulldogs’ run.
Jacob Green went a scoreless seventh inning for PHS to pick up the save.
In game two, Orange jumped on Nik Moran for 9 runs on 9 hits and the Panthers defeated the Bulldogs, 9-2.
Christian Zambrano went 1 for 2, and Christian Perez went 1 for 3 for PHS.
Steve Lopez threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Bulldogs and struck out one.
Pasadena will host South Pasadena on Tuesday afternoon at 3.
