Maranatha, the area’s most talented program opened their 2018 season with a 2-1 victory over West Covina on Saturday night at Jackie Robinson
Max Blessinger began his junior season with a bang.
Blessing went 3 for 4, drove in a run and stole his first base of the year.
He broke the school’s stolen base record in 2017 during a remarkable sophomore campaign.
Dawson Netz went 6 innings and allowed one run on 7 hits.
The junior right hander walked 3 and struck out 7.
JP Caire went one scoreless inning in relief for the Minutemen.
Marco Martinez went 1 for 4, including an RBI double.
Steve Alvarez and Andrew Rodriguez had 2 hits apiece for West Covina.
MHS will travel to Charter Oak (0-1) on Wednesday at 3:15.
