For the second consecutive year, the Pasadena boys basketball program bounced back from a disappointing CIF-SS title game defeat.
Four days after being handled by Chino Hills at APU, PHS showed its heart and mettle in the 69-47 victory over visiting Narbonne at Marshall High School.
The Gauchos hung with the Bulldogs through the first three quarters, but PHS went on a 28-10 run in the fourth quarter to earn a comfortable victory.
Bryce Hamilton had 22 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks.
Tavian Percy continued his hot shooting, going 9-of-13 from the field and finished with 20 points.
Darius Brown II contributed 11 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds.
Omari Moore finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Darius Mason may have scored just 3 points, but the junior had 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocked shots.
Laz Morris didn’t take an official shot, but he finished with 5 points thanks to a 5-of-6 effort from the free-throw line.
PHS shot 49 percent (25 of 51) from the field, 5-of-17 from 3-point land, and they made 14-of-17 from the free-throw line.
Pasadena will host Taft (27-9) on Saturday at 7 at Marshall High School.
The Toreadors defeated Torrey Pines, 81-74, in overtime on Wednesday.
