If you heard that Megan Kelleher, Vivian Wheeler and Brennah Bronk combined to go 8 for 8 for Poly at the plate, you might assume the Panthers had a favorable outcome.
Believe it or not, Alverno overcame all of that and defeated the Panthers, 8-6, on Friday.
Kelleher went 3 for 3, including a walk, run scored and an RBI.
Wheeler was 2 for 2 with a triple, walked twice and scored a run.
Bronk had 3 hits, including a single, double and a home run, scored twice and drove in three runs.
Bronk also went the distance in the circle.
She was saddled with the loss after giving up 8 runs (5 earned) on 8 hits, and she struck out 4.
