St. Francis got humbled on Tuesday.

They weren’t cocky at all, but they headed into the first of three Mission League games with last-place Crespi on a four-game win streak.

The Celts, though, got a solid effort on the mound and climbed above the Golden Knights and out of the league cellar with a 6-0 victory.

Alex Rivas earned the victory, going 6 1/3 innings, and allowing five hits.

Rivas struck walked two and struck out six batters.

Hayden Byrnes starting and was saddled with the loss for St. Francis.

Oliver Garcia went 3 for 4 with a double and drove in three runs for the Celts.

DJ Kougher had one hit and a pair of RBIs for Crespi.

Jack Duncan went 2 for 3 for St. Francis.

Chris Stamos came on in the seventh and struck out the side for the Golden Knights.

Crespi and St. Francis will meet for the second of three games this week on Wednesday a Hartunian Field at 3:30.
