Mayfield was given a gift on Tuesday by Flintridge Prep.
The Rebels defeated second-place Poly on a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.
And with their 8-4 victory at Westridge, the Cubs now have a two-game lead over the Panthers with two weeks or so to go in the Prep League title chase.
Jaylin Domingo went the distance, allowing three earned runs on five hits, and she singled, doubled and scored twice in helping her own cause.
Julia Watson went 3 for 4 with three singles and drove in two runs.
Taylin Yankovich doubled, scored and drove in three runs.
Malayna Domingo started the five-run seventh inning by reaching base on an error and she finished 1 for 5 and scored twice.
Mayfield could all but put the league title to bed today as they travel to second-place Poly today (Wednesday) at 3:30.
Westridge will also have their next game at Poly, as the Tigers head there on Thursday at 3:30.
