St. Joseph stayed within striking range of first-place St. Paul after defeating La Salle, 17-10, in a Del Rey League game on Thursday.

Eight of the 17 St. Joseph runs were unearned because of five La Salle errors.

Collette Allen got the loss in the circle after the Jesters pounded out 16 hits, but she didn’t get a lot of defensive support.

Allen didn’t walk anyone and struck out four.

Allen did her part at the plate, going 3 for 4, including a double, home run and four RBIs.

Sophia Sansone doubled three times, drove in three runs and scored once.

Kat Yuzefpolsky singled, walked three times and scored four runs.

La Salle will host St. Monica on Tuesday and then travel to Bishop Amat on Thursday in a pair of league games.
