Maranatha’s fifth consecutive victory via shutout wasn’t the whole story in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Oxford Academy at USC.

It was also the program’s 11th straight victory since April 6.

Charles Acker went six scoreless innings and allowed just three hits.

Acker didn’t walk a batter and struck out six to earn the victory on the hill.

Jesus Gonzalez went the distance for Oxford Academy.

Gonzalez allowed three runs on nine hits and he struck out three.

Marco Martinez had three hits, including a double, triple and an RBI.

Max Blessinger went 2 for 3, including a double and scored once.

Dante Campione tripled, scored and drove in one run.

Ethan Firestone had one hit and an RBI.

Nick Iverson and Acker had one hit apiece for the Minutemen.

MHS will host Cerritos Valley Christian on Tuesday night at 6 at Brookside Park.
