From STAFF REPORTS

The St. Francis season that had such high hopes isn’t going to end quite the way the Golden Knights had hoped.

SF has lost five consecutive Mission League games and seven of their last eight, which, for all intents and purposes ends any thought of a postseason appearance.

The latest setback was Wednesday’s 5-2 defeat at the hands of Alemany.

Blaine Traxel went the distance and allowed one run on four hits to earn the victory on the mound.

Traxel walked one and struck out six St. Francis batters.

Aaron Treloar got the loss after the senior right hander surrendered two runs (one earned) on two hits and he struck out six.

Pierre Biscaichipy and John Spellman combined to go the rest of the way on the mound for SF, and they surrendered three runs.

Treloar collected two of the Golden Knights’ four hits and drove in the only St. Francis run of the game.

Ethan Hagen and Alex Talamante had two hits and two RBIs apiece for the Warriors.

Christian Muro doubled and scored on a Treloar single and Doyle Kane had a single for St. Francis.

The Golden Knights and Warriors are set to complete their three-game series on Friday at Alemany at 3:30.
