Spoiler alert: the Poly baseball team is going to win the outright Prep League championship.
The Panthers (9-0) have a three-game lead with three league games to go and they’ll almost certainly finish 12-0.
They inched closer Wednesday when they defeated Chadwick, 5-2, out in Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Matt Loomis got the win on the mound after going the first 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out 12 Chadwick batters.
Cameron McFarlane went 2 for 4 with a double and the senior scored two runs.
David Mathias singled, walked three times and scored a pair of runs.
Ryan Clayton didn’t pick up a hit, but he did draw a walk, scored a run and drove in three.
Franco Alonso went 3 for 4 with a game-high four RBIs.
Poly will face off with Flintridge Prep on Saturday night at 5 at the Glendale Sports Complex.
