Accomplishment(s): Take this into consideration: Landon Smith doesn’t get his first varsity baseball postseason start until the second round of the CIF-SS Division 3 playoffs. He was also facing a Temecula Valley team that had won 26 games, which was 10 more than La Salle when they faced off Tuesday at Arcadia County Park. Smith didn’t flinch, though, the senior threw a two-hit shutout and led the Lancers to a 1-0 victory. Smith didn’t walk a single batter and struck out three. He will also get the start this Tuesday (May 29) when Long Beach Wilson comes to town with a spot in the CIF D3 finals at stake.
