It didn’t take long to get the bad taste out of their collective mouths.

La Salle fell in five games at St. Lucy’s in a back-and-forth battle Tuesday night.

Fast forward 24 hours, and the Lancers showed their resiliency.

La Salle swept Monrovia.

Chloe Howell continues to lead and pace the Lancers’ offense.

The sophomore had a match-high 19 kills.

Vanessa Ramirez, Elle Harrity and Carly Kejmar combined for 13 kills.

Kejmar also contributed a team-high 6 aces, and Ramirez finished with 5 aces.

Alessandra Perez led La Salle with 14 assists.

Howell, Kejmar, Perez and Ramirez each had at least 6 digs apiece.

La Salle will travel to South Pasadena today (Thursday) at 4:45 in another nonleague contest.

Next week, the Lancers host St. Paul Tuesday in their second Del Rey League match of the new season.

La Salle earned a Del Rey League opening victory over St. Anthony last week.

Before falling to La Salle, the Saints had been 9-0.
