After losing Allison Martinez, Makana Meyer and Eryn Boken to graduation, it was clearly going to be a rebuilding year for the Westridge volleyball program.
And while they have struggled, the Tigers have battled throughout.
In fact, in spite of being just 4-7 overall, Westridge is still peering at a potential CIF-SS berth if they continue to win.
On Thursday, they earned a much-needed, five-set victory at Providence.
Westridge won by scores of 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 26-28 and 15-10.
Krystal Raymundo had a big night with 19 kills, 14 digs and a pair of aces.
Nicole Gibbs was even better.
Gibbs added 29 kills, 8 digs and an ace.
Lauren Baydaline finished with 7 kills, Julia Cruz had 15 digs and 3 aces.
Hayden Welsh provided 2 kills and 3 blocks and Sarah Waite had 2 kills and a block.
Westridge will host Flintridge Prep today (Friday) at 5 in another Prep League battle.
