Quotable:

Marshall coach Sang Lee: “Although we got swept, we played hard and lost to a quality team. One trademark of this team is that we never give up. We tend to play better later into each match. It shows character that we can bounce back and play tough despite the circumstances. Our two seniors, Risejah Velasco and North Steinbacher, are showing leadership. They are motivating the girls to finish each match until the last point.”

Marshall freshman middle blocker Kelaiyah Johnston: “During the first two sets, we were holding onto the rope, but in the third set, we found a way to tug. We weren’t doing anything special until the third set. We started playing smart and found a way to get up there with them.”

Records: Marshall (9-13 overall,. 4-6 in league); Gabrielino (22-10, 10-0)
