For the first time all year, La Salle flipped the script.
Instead of starting slow and finishing strong, the Lancers trailed just 14-13 at halftime in their Del Rey League contest Friday night at St. Genevieve.
But the Valiants used a 21-0 advantage in the second half to hand La Salle its ninth loss in as many tries.
St. Genevieve defeated La Salle, 35-13, in the next to last week of the 2018 football season.
CJ Rettig completed 13 of 32 passes for 188 yards.
The senior threw a pair of TD’s to Warren Fowler and Gio Butteri and was picked once.
Ceasar Gudino had 25 yards rushing on 6 carries and Rettig carried the ball once for 25 yards.
Fowler’s one catch was a 50-yard score.
Corbin Jones had a team-best 4 catches and he finished with 27 yards receiving.
Butteri had 2 receptions for 36 yards.
Mario Veliz caught a pair of passes for 29 yards and Todd Rodriguez had one reception for 13 yards.
La Salle will host second-place Harvard-Westlake next Friday to close out 2018.
The Wolverines had a bye in week nine.
