Last weekend, Polytechnic School’s girls Varsity soccer team participated in the first rounds of the Best in the West Winter Soccer Classic hosted by Newport Harbor High School. The Panthers first faced Portola High School and La Serna High School; they split the matches, dropping the first but winning the second. Going into this week, Poly opened their league play facing Chadwick and Mayfield. The girls had a perfect week, shutting out Chadwick 3-0 and Mayfield 1-0. This gives them plenty of momentum as they continue their play in the Best in the West Winter Soccer Classic, where they face Laguna Hills High School at Portola High School tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. Visit the Athletic Calendar for directions and details.
