Maranatha needed a solid response to a couple Olympic League setbacks of late.
And boy did they get that response Wednesday night.
The Minutemen defeated Whittier Christian 26-24, 17-25, 25-27, 25-15 and 16-14 to climb back into second place.
Tiffany Godley had 21 kills, 20 digs and a block.
Setter Noelle Simpson added 51 assists, 8 digs, 3 kills and 2 aces.
Hannah Beckler was huge with 23 kills and an ace.
Mikaela Ashworth contributed with 18 kills 12 digs and 2 aces.
“We had been struggling to get some consistency and rhythm over the last week,” Maranatha coach Eli Cuenca said. “The girls really pulled together and earned a victory to start the second half of our league schedule.
Maranatha will host Heritage Christian next Tuesday at 6:15 with the hopes of continuing their momentum.
