Poly coach Chris Schmoke won’t look past any opponent.
Nor should he.
Poly, though, is now 9-0, after a dominating, 34-7 Prep League victory at Rio Hondo Prep Friday night.
The Panthers now just need a win over Trinity Classical Academy next Friday at home to own the title outright.
As for Friday, John Genske’s stellar play at quarterback continued.
Genske connected on 16 of 26 passes for 246 yards and he threw 3 more touchdown passes.
His TD connections included a 15-yard score to Jack Wilson, a 47-yard strike to Brady Carter, and lastly, Christian Henderson took a Genske pass 66 yards to pay dirt.
Cameron McFarlane’s 46-yard TD run got Poly on the board.
Jackson Hayes also scored on the ground. Hayes sprinted in from 31 yards out.
Poly has been so dominant that they’ve outscored all opponents by a combined total of 319-63 this season.
And in Prep League play, the Panthers have allowed just 7 points, while scoring 95.
