The Caltech women’s swimming & diving team impressed for a second time in 2016, this time at Chapman College.

Sophomore Brittany Percin (Moraga, Calif. / Stanford Online) was perhaps the Beavers’ greatest standout, winning two events on the day. Percin won the 100-yard freestyle in 55.49 seconds, one of two events in which she holds the Caltech record in. She then won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.51. Fellow sophomore Gemma Takahashi (San Jose, Calif. / Leland) finished right behind Percin in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.85). Takahashi also won the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.00), the event in which she is the Caltech record holder in.

Head coach Paul Hughes and the Beavers will have plenty of time to build on their accomplishments to this point in the season. The team is off until January 14, 2017, when they take on Occidental and Pomona-Pitzer in a SCIAC tri-meet.
