St. Francis has been close in each of its first three Mission League games, but in the first two, the Golden Knights fell short to Crespi and Harvard-Westlake, respectively.
The Golden Knights, though, clutched up Wednesday night and defeated Chaminade 78-74 in overtime.
Joey Walsh continues to lead the way.
The senior lefty had a team-high 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting and a 6 for 8 effort at the free-throw line. He also grabbed 7 rebounds.
Andre Henry had 17, Sean Stephen 12 and Lucas Shin 10.
Henry also had 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
Malakhi Jensen chipped in with 7 points and Daniel Scott had 6.
And in a game this close, the Golden Knights needed each and every point in got.
St. Francis made 8 of 21 from behind the 3-point arc, and 16 of 22 at the free-throw line.
The Golden Knights travel to Loyola on Friday night.
Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
