Poly was all set to play Bishop Diego Friday night in Santa Barbara in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 4-A playoffs.
But Mother Nature had other plans.
The torrential rain caused a mudslide on the 101 Freeway and the Panthers’ team and administrators and parents had to head back home.
The game will be played Saturday night at 5 p.m.
“This won’t affect us (mentally or physically), we’ll be ready and excited to play Saturday night,” Poly senior John Genske said.
Poly is 18-4 and champions of the Prep League and Bishop Diego is 16-8 and finished second in the Tri-Valley League.
