Poly brought a 4-5 overall record into Thursday’s Prep League opener against Flintrdge Prep at the Glendale Sports Complex.

Don’t let records fool you.

The Panthers scored 10 runs in the first three innings and never looked back.

Poly defeated Flintridge Prep, 12-5, in the Prep League opener for both schools.
Senior Jack Wilson led Poly with 3 hits, while junior Matt Queen and sophomore Franco Alonso had 2 hits apiece.

Matt Loomis pitched 6 innings, giving up only 6 hits.

Jeff Chan surrendered 10 runs (8 earned) on 9 hits over 3 innings pitched. He walked one and struck out two Poly batters.

Chan was saddled with the loss.

Nicholas Davis went the final four innings and allowed just two runs (one earned). Davis walked four and struck out four.

Flintridge Prep had 7 hits, but didn’t score until the fourth inning and were trailing at the time, 10-0.
