La Salle was making a huge statement on Tuesday at Division 1 power and Del Rey League rival Bishop Amat.

In a battle of ‘Lancers’ the boys from Pasadena were cruising 5-1 into the sixth inning in a fght for sole possession of first place early in the league race.

It was the boys from La Puente, however, who came out on top, after scoring five sixth-innings runs and earned the 6-5 victory.

Jeff Daley went the first 3 2/3 innings and allowed just one run on three hits. Daley walked three and struck out two.

Bishop Amat got the Justin Zuniga for five runs on four hits.

Ethan Patrick continued his torrid offensive streak in Del Rey League play.

The La Salle junior went 2 for 2 with three runs scored and he drove in two more.

In games with Serra, St. Paul and Bishop Amat, Patrick has seven hits.

Noah Zate had one hit and scored a run on Tuesday.

Sammy Martinez went 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

AJ Barraza had a triple and drove in three runs for Bishop Amat.

Zane Lindeman went an inning of scoreless relief for La Salle.

The Lancers will host Cathedral on Friday at Arcadia County Park.
