Marshall had won just 1 of their first 9 games heading into Wednesday’s Mission Valley League contest at Gabrielino.

The Eagles took out any and all of their frustrations with 20 hits and crushing Gabrielino, 17-0.

Marshall (2-8 overall, 1-0 in league) had five players with at least two hits.

Matthew Arnst had a huge night, going 4 for 4 with three runs scored and he drove in two runs.

Arnst also pitched five scoreless innings to pick up the win.

He allowed just one hit, walked none and struck out 10 batters.

Ian Cox had three hits, scored a run and drove in a team-best four runs for Marshall.

Kendall Moran, Isidro Leon and Chris Gaines each drove in two runs on Wednesday.

Marshall will host Rosemead on Friday at 3:15.
