The Good news, though, it’s early and they play first-place Flintridge Prep on Friday, and with a win, the Panthers could pull to within one-game of first place.
On Monday, Rio Hondo Prep earned a 28-30, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-23 victory over Poly.
John Genske led the Panthers with 20 kills.
Will McConnell added a match-best 51 assists.

Quotable:
Poly senior John Genske: “I think this loss was tough, because we played a really close game and we had a few games we were winning and then shifted in the final points of the match. I think at this point we’ve got one of the most talented teams in the league, but a lot of our players are raw and inexperienced.”
Prep League Standings:
Flintridge Prep (11-2 overall, 2-0 in league)
Firebaugh (2-2, 1-1)
Chadwick (4-7, 1-2)
Rio Hondo Prep (8-12, 0-1)
