It had been a really rough first nine matches to start the boys volleyball season for Maranatha.
The Minutemen had lost all nine matches and were swept in seven of the nine.
But they kept battling, and Thursday it paid dividends.
Maranatha earned a 25-23, 25-15 and 25-12 sweep over the Bulldogs to earn their first victory of the season.
Swinnie Mason had 11 kills, 12 digs and 2 aces.
Sean Espinosa added 8 kills and 11 digs.
Joshia Rojas had 22 assists, 4 aces and a kill.
Maranatha (1-9) will host Upland on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in another nonleague contest.
