If the St. Francis baseball team doesn’t make the playoffs, it won’t be from a lack of quality pitching.

It will be because of an offense that fallen asleep at the wheel.

It’s not that St. Francis isn’t giving everything they have, it’s that the Mission League pitching is as good as it gets.

On Thursday, Harvard-Westlake earned a three-game sweep over St. Francis this week with a 6-0 victory.

For the week, the Wolverines outscored the Golden Knights 20-1.

St. Francis began Mission League play 3-1, but they currently find themselves on a five-game losing streak in which they’ve scored just two runs in 35 innings.

Brandon Lewis had two of the Golden Knights three hits on Thursday, and Aaron Treloar had the other.

Noah Shwery allowed four runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out four.

JP Caire surrendered two unearned runs over 1/3 of an inning on no hits, but he walked two batters.

Brandon Lewis is a bright spot in a struggling offense, as the senior singled, doubled and upped his batting average to .389, and his on-base percentage to .593 this season.

St. Francis will have 8 days off and hopes to find its bats.

The Golden Knights will take on Serra in the St. Paul Tournament on April 15 at 3:30 at Valley Christian in Cerritos.

Box Score:
St. Francis: 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-(0)
Harv-West: 0-1-0-0-0-5-X-(6)
