Had anyone said they saw La Salle competing for a Camino Real League title after the Lancers started the season 1-8, you might have asked that person what they were smoking.

But La Salle finds itself in first place after sweeping St. Genevieve, 25-15, 25-23 and 25-22 on the road.

The Lancers are tied at 4-1 in league with both St. Genevieve and St. Anthony.

La Salle has beaten both of those teams in the last week.

Will Dalgarn led the way again with 14 kills and 12 digs.

CJ Retting added 6 kills and 13 digs.

Anton Aritz had 9 kills and one block.

La Salle will host last-place Mary Star of the Sea on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

“I am excited for the boys,” assistant coach Stephen Bernabe said. “They have really come together and are playing with passion.”

The Lancers JV also swept St. Genevieve, 25-20 and 25-19.

La Salle (9-9 overall, 4-1 in league)
St. Anthony (12-6, 4-1)
St. Genevieve (12-7-2, 4-1)
Bosco Tech (10-10, 2-3)
St. Paul (1-11, 0-4)
