Franco Alonso went three hitless innings and struck out six to help lead Poly to an 11-0, mercy-rule victory in 5 innings on Friday afternoon.

Ryan Clayton and Jackson Hayes each threw a scoreless inning apiece to close out the Falcons.

Matt Queen went 2 for 3, including a triple and two RBIs.

Ty Evans doubled twice, scored two runs and drove in another.

Jack Wilson went 2 for 2 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.

Eight separate Poly players had at least one hit, including Alonso, Sean Tibay, Matt Loomis, Robbie Wilson and Trent Steele.

Firebaugh’s offense was able to muster just one hit on Friday.

Poly won’t play again until next Thursday when they travel to Rio Hondo Prep at 3:30.
