In an absolute thrilling finish, the Maranatha Minutemen defeated the Mark Keppel Aztecs 85-84 on games after tying in sets, 9-9. The #2 doubles tandem of Matthew Leiva and Michael Mathews lost the final set of the day 4-6, but their mini comeback from down 1-4 pushed the games edge to the Minutemen’s side.

Maranatha was buoyed by their doubles teams, especially the #3 team of Jake Scott and Tony Gao, who are quickly becoming a duo to be reckoned with. They swept their three sets 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (2). The #1 team of Drew Sierra and Billy Tan took home set wins against the #2 and 3 teams of the Aztecs, winning 6-1, 6-3. Leiva and Mathews won one set 6-3 but narrowly lost in their other two sets.

The Minutemen, now undefeated in their last 11 matches, are 11-1 overall and 6-0 in league. They will look to close out league play after Spring Break concludes next week.
