Things looked good early on for St. Francis.
Aaron Treloar doubled in Jacob Bechtold and Brandon Lewis for an early 2-0 lead.
But the Golden Knights’ bats were quieted the rest of the way, and Loyola defeated St. Francis, 11-2, in the third of three Mission League games.
Two days ago, the Golden Knights ended Loyola’s 12-game winning streak over St. Francis.
Loyola pounded out 11 hits off five St. Francis pitchers.
Nolan Shwery gave up four runs on three hits over three innings pitched.
Tyler Quintero allowed three runs on four hits in just an inning of work.
JP Caire also gave up three runs and two hits in two innings Friday.
Ryan DeVore and Aaron Treloar each threw a scoreless inning.
Jacob Bechtold had one hit and a run scored.
John Politis and Patrick Dionisio each had a hit for the Golden Knights.
St. Francis will finish the season with three games next week against Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks.
“While we came out of the gates strong, we struggled on the mound with control the entire game. You can’t do that in the Mission League,” St. Francis coach Aaron Dorlarque said.
