Freshman forward Rohan Mirchandani (Pleasanton, Calif. / Foothill) led the Caltech attack with three shots in the Beavers’ SCIAC men’s soccer match at California Lutheran University on Saturday.
The Beavers’ young core once again stepped up to drive offensive and defensive production. Freshman defender JD Walker (Grand Blanc, Mich. / Grand Blanc) accounted for the Beavers’ lone shot on goal. Walker’s shot came in the 27th minute of the first half. Meanwhile, freshman keeper Joe Como (Glen Cove, N.Y. / Friends Acad.) was solid once more against a stingy Kingsmen offense, turning back nine shots, continuing an impressive run against some sound SCIAC offenses.
Head Coach Phil Murray and the Beavers will return home on Thursday to host SCIAC foe University of La Verne for a 4:00 p.m. tilt.
