Annie Evans played like a senior that wants to see her program in the playoffs.
With just over a couple weeks to go, Mayfield has all but secured the Prep League’s third spot and an automatic invite to the CIF playoffs.
Evans had 13 kills, 10 digs and 6 aces in a four-set win over Flintridge Prep on Tuesday.
The Cubs defeated the Rebels by scores of 25-20, 12-25, 25-21 and 25-10.
Catie Sanchez had 8 kills and Maddie Reed finished with 5 kills for the Cubs.
Ellie Watkins was also huge for Mayfield with 37 assists, 11 digs and 3 aces.
Courtney Johnson led Prep with 12 kills and 4 aces.
Jada Gritton had 8 kills and Ani Bernardi had 32 assists for the Rebels.
Prep will travel to Poly on Thursday, while Mayfield will host first-place Westridge next Tuesday night at 5:15.
