From STAFF REPORTS

The first two days at the Glendora Tournament had been less than memorable for the La Salle girls basketball program.

The Lancers lost to Pasadena by 12 in the first round and by 13 to Yucaipa in the second round.

La Salle, though, always seems to bounce back right when you start to doubt them.

And bounce back they did, and did in a clutch way.

The Lancers 21 fourth-quarter points were just 2 points less than they had scored in the first three periods combined.

La Salle slipped by Covina, 44-42, on Thursday morning in a game that started at the revolting time of 8:30 a.m.

Julia Macabuhay is a stud.

She led the way again with 25 points.

With 24 seconds to play, Macabuhay hit a 3-point basket to tie the game and she then stole the ball and set up Natalia Rodriguez with a lay up with less than 3 seconds to play.

Brianna Antillon chipped in 8 points and Nicole Ortiz had 7.

Allison Ayala led Covina with 19 points.

The Lancers came back from a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to pick up a big win.

La Salle will play Friday night at a time and with an opponent to be determined.

Box Score:
LS: 8-7-8-21-(44)
C: 8-8-12-14-(42)

Records:
La Salle (9-5); Covina (8-7)
