Sometimes after Christmas, it can take a little while for a basketball team to work the rust off.
That appeared to be the case for Arlete and to the advantage of Flintridge Prep on Thursday.
Arleta had a remarkably-low 2 first-half points and the Rebels cruised, 43-18, in the second round of the La Canada tournament.
Kaitlyn Chen led all scorers with 15 for Prep.
Sofia Gonzalez added 7, and Emma Stellar and Alex Kyriakakis each had 6 for the Rebels.
Itzel Sanchez led Arleta with 9 points, and Beatrice Pena had 5.
Prep will face Hart tonight at 7 as tournament play continues.
