Julia Macabuhay and her running mates have put themselves in a great position to win the Santa Fe League and go into the CIF-SS playoffs as their league’s top seed.
And while Lancers’ coach Freedom McCullough would say, ‘hold on, there are still 4 games left,” (and he’s right), Tuesday’s blowout went a long ways in paving the path to a title.
La Salle crushed Mary Star of the Sea, which at the time, was also 3-0 in Santa Fe League play, 70-33, and did so on the road.
Macabuhay was her usual self.
The senior stud had almost as many points as their opponents.
Macabuhay finished with 27 points, 7 assists and 8 steals.
Freshman Michelle Algiers added 10 points.
Alyssa Arroyo and Brianna Antillon had nice evenings with 9 points apiece.
Nicole Ortiz also played huge, with 6 points and a game-high 14 rebounds
Zarah Huo chipped in with 4 points, and Tabitha Esparza had 3 for the Lancers.
La Salle won’t play until next Monday, when they travel to Pomona Catholic at 6:30
