It took Alemany five innings to get to St. Francis pitcher Chris Stamos.
But once they did, the Warriors made it count with five fifth-inning runs.
Alemany would hold on and defeat St. Francis, 5-2, in Tuesday’s Mission League battle.
Stamos was saddled with his second loss in about 96 hours as the lefty allowed five runs on seven hits through four-plus innings on the mound.
Stamos walked three and struck out four batters.
Carlos Moreno got the win, going five innings and allowing just a single run on four hits.
Moreno walked one and fanned four.
Doyle Kane went 3 for 3, and his brother, Mikey, singled and had an RBI.
Matt Odom also had a base hit and RBI for the Golden Knights.
John Politis doubled and scored for St. Francis.
Blaine Traxel and Noah Cardenas each had a base hit and a pair of RBIs for Alemany.
The Golden Knights and Warriors will battle again today (Wednesday) at the Glendale Sports Complex at 3:30.
