The Prep League is going to be a war each night.
Poly is the favorite but nothing is ever easy in this league.
Mayfield, in a final tune up before opening Prep League play on Tuesday dropped a hard-fought, five-set match to visiting St. Lucy’s.
The Regents earned a 25-13, 23-25, 25-18, 18-25, 19-17 nonleague victory.
Haley Eaves led the way for Mayfield with 17 kills and 20 digs.
Ashley Hurley added 31 digs and 2 aces.
Caroline Ivankovich had 11 kills and 19 digs and Ellie Watkins finished with 37 assists and 13 digs.
Mayfield will travel to Rio Hondo Prep for their league opener on Thursday at 4:30.
