Tiare Tuitama’s La Salle girls volleyball team was very good before Monday.
But getting three top-flight transfers eligible for the first time makes the Lancers a very formidable opponent in any match up.
In their first contest together, La Salle swept visiting St. Paul, 25-19, 25-21 and 25-16 Monday night in a Del Rey League showdown.
Outside hitter Claire Forrest ;ed the Lancers with 19 kills.
Sophia Anderson, just named captain last week, added 12 more kills on Monday.
Sophia Sanchez had 8 kills and 2 blocks, and middle blocker Tori Ashkinos added 13 assists, 3 kills and 2 blocks.
“We had a great third league win, finally with our full roster and new rotations” Tuitama said. “The team still has some kinks to work out. I am looking forward to practice tomorrow to prepare for Thursday’s match at Bishop Montgomery, the top seed in our division.”

Bishop Montgomery (16-3, 3-0)
St. Joseph (12-6, 1-1)
