You know it’s not your day when an 0-6 team holds your offense to just 10 first downs and 3 points.

That’s exactly what Glendale did Saturday, as the Vaqueros picked up their first win of the year, 25-3, in what has to be considered a setback for the Lancers (3-4).

PCC’s lone points came on an Enrique Lozano 43-yard field goal with 23 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Lozano’s field goal tied the game at 3-3, but Michael Selsor’s 18-yard field goal late in the second quarter gave Glendale a 6-3 lead it would not relinquish.

Selsor connected on two shorts field goals of 20 and 18 yards, and that alone was enough to take down PCC.

David Arriga had a 6-yard TD run for Glendale, and the Vaqueros quarterback also connected with Solomon Nwanko on a 2-yard scoring pass.

But it was Torrence Brumfield’s 153 yards on 37 carries, which included a 23-yard TD run that wore the PCC defense down.

Jessie Shaw led the Lancers with 49 yards on 10 carries.

PCC quarterback Jesse Hanckel had a day to forget.

Hanckel completed just 10 of 25 passes for 109 yards. He threw no touchdowns and was picked off twice.

Jacob Fimbres led PCC with three catches for 52 yards.

The game was won on the ground.

Glendale outrushed the Lancers 290-74, and won the time possession battle.

The Vaqueros had the ball for 34:47 as compared to just 20:11 for PCC.

Both teams fumbled the ball four times each, but Glendale recovered three of its own fumbles and three of PCC’s.

Jasper Chavez led the Lancers defense, which has played well almost all season, with 11 tackles, Tyler Poythress had 10 and Dawqwan Bailey had 9.

In wins, PCC’s playmaker, Yusef Muhammad has big numbers. But on Saturday, Hanckel was able to get Muhammad the ball just twice for 22 yards.

Muhammad did have a 37-yard kickoff return, though.

PCC will look to get back on track when it hosts LA Southwest College next Saturday at 6.
